Evans Halshaw (2010 - 2012): Graphic Designer (Citroen, Peugeot, Renault, Nissan and Hyundai)

For the past 2 years I have been working for Evans Halshaw, a motor retail company which is part of the Pendragon PLC group, the largest motor retail company in Europe. My job involved creating press and web advertising along with poster / brouchure and leaflet campaigns for each franchise.

Lurcher Farm Cottage and Caravans (2009): Website Design

I have created the website for a local camping and caravan park. For this project I travelled to the site to take photos for the website as well as to get a feel for what the site was about. I based the navigation on local road signs which I thought the user would be able to easily relate to.

University of Lincoln, Fashion Show'08 (March - May 2008): Branding and Website Design

As part of my third years CDP at University I decided to work on my first live brief creating the branding for the third year fashion students end of year show. This included a logo, website, leaflets, tickets and booklet.

12 PLATE CAMPAIGN CONCEPT:
NOVEMBER 2011

Designed to promote the new 12 plate vehicles, the idea was to pit each franchise against each other in a motor olympics. For instance testing sports cars 0-60 speed (100 metre sprint) or which franchises van could carry the biggest laod (weight-lifting)

Shelsley Walsh is a long establish uphill race which showcases both modern and vintage cars. In the poster concept I used images of new and old vehicles merged into one to show the history and the drive moving the race into the present.

12 PLATE CAMPAIGN CONCEPT:

Another idea for the new 12 Plate vehciles released in May. A concept which is based on the Queens Diamond Jubilee coming up later in the year. I decided to keep the design as clean as possible using line drawings of major british Landmarks, taking the reader on a tour of the Queens Kingdom.

Designed to promote the new 11 plate vehicles in March 2011. The idea behind the campaign was to create our own 'Oceans 11' team of vehicles. Each of these posters had a 'star' car with all the relavent information about the vehcile displayed.
CITREON SHOWROOM POSTER:

A Poster to make people aware that their key fobs battery also needs to be replaced form time to time. I designed the image to merge both a key fob and low battery symbol to get this point across.
LE MANS EXPERIENCE 2011 CONCEPT:

A concept for Le Mans, a 24 hour race set in France. Using photoshop throughout to create a night time driving experience.

TOKYO:OCEAN CORPORATE IDENTITY CONCEPTS:

My first years CDP was set to develop our understanding of corporate identity. Designing a logo, posters, murial and other design applications for a new cafe/restaurant/gallery based in London. I researched into the local area of the building to get a feel of the location, I then created a logo concept which portrayed each section of the building.

APPLE Z:
NOVEMBER 2007

This project involved taking a single phrase and turning it into a design, my phrase was Apple Z - the shortcut to undo an item. I decided I wanted to create a story in which shortcuts could be used in real life situations such as Apple Z to undo or Apple C and P to copy and paste.

I created a mini comic in which a man receieves an iphone with the power to control his surroundings with apple Z, in this section he accidentally causes his girlfriend to 'desaturate' turning black and white. Starting in full colour it gradually changing to a Frank Miller style black and white illustration piece.
LUCK:

A one off poster about luck. This poster is about what I consider luck to be, a mind set rather then an unseen force.
INTRODUCTION TO TYPOGRAPHY:
JANUARY 2006

During a typography course we were asked to create a piece of design which introduced people who knew nothing about design or typography in the best way we knew how. I decided I wanted to go for a more visual piece, as everyone I asked who knew nothing about type could not relate to bowls or serifs. Therefore I decided to explain it by relating each type face to an image.
INTRODUCTION TO TYPOGRAPHY:
JANUARY 2006

As show in the previous image serif type faces are generally a more professional style typface, clean and modern hence the man in the suit, latin serifs as in this example are a little more fancy, with flair hence the latin dancer. This continued with sans serif being a younger version of the modern man, a bit 'cooler' with a guitar and trendy clothes to show its youthful modern feel. Each poster had an example of a typeface in that category showing the sometimes subtle differences in bowls and serif types.

A Logo / buisness card design for a mobile DJ based in Nottingham, wanting to appeal to a younger market I incorporated what the DJ does into his logo creating a deck within the typography.

This artwork was a test to try to make it look as though the words were moving so fast a layer of colour was being peeled off, incorprating essence of the quote into the art.

This quote suggests that a small idea is the birthplace of great accomplishments. I wanted to represent this by starting with a small idea at the bottom of the page which grows into the full artwork.

1ST ACCESS LOCKSMITHS: AUGUST 2009

This was my first fully HTML Based website. Having learnt the basics of coding a website, the owner of 1st Access Locksmiths commissioned me to create a simple but stylish website for his company, including a homepage, about, pricing and contact page.

UNIVERSITY OF LINCOLN FASHION SHOW 08: MARCH 08

The first website I designed. I used Adobe Flash to create a 3 page flash website for the Fashion Students end of term Fashion show. The website included interactive buttons, a small gallery, and a clean modern layout to compliment the print work completed along side the website.
